We have officially entered what is called Passion Week, or Holy Week. This is the week we celebrate the final week of Jesus’ earthly ministry, occurring during the week of Passover, which is finished with the most important weekend in the history of the universe. This is the weekend when the Lamb of God would lay down his life for his people on Friday, and then be raised from the dead on Sunday, defeating death for all who will believe in him.
Theologian, D. A. Carson says, “The entire Bible pivots one weekend in Jerusalem about two thousand years ago.” Nothing could be more important in our lives than Easter Weekend. Our faith and hope depend on a bleeding Savior and an empty tomb.
As we walk through Passion Week, let us reflect on some of the events and teachings of Jesus that took place during the week leading up to his resurrection. Each day this week, I encourage you to read the short Scripture text below assigned to each day to help position your heart to treasure our Risen King. These texts occur in chronological order during Holy Week. Spend time on these verses during your personal devotion time with the Lord each day.

-
Who is one person I can share this passage with today?
