For 37 years the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond (PRC) has been providing free services to women and men who are experiencing crisis pregnancy or those who are just in need of support. God has equipped and readied us “for such a time as this”. One of the services PRC provides are free ultrasounds so that women can know what is taking place in their bodies. Additionally, they provide options for counseling, parenting classes, bible study, assistance with meeting physical needs, and a comprehensive plan of aftercare support that helps moms and dads to THRIVE!
Many women have shared their lives and their stories with us over the years and we praise God for that. I would like to share some of these with you and I hope you will see how God is using this ministry to support our community. The PRC has provided over 300 free ultrasounds to women this year alone and here are some their stories and words of appreciation.
Stories from Women
Sarah a young woman who was considering abortion, came to the center for a free pregnancy test. During her appointment her pregnancy was confirmed and she was unsure of how she should proceed. Her counselor asked if she would be interested in a returning for a free ultrasound and she agreed. She was so moved by the view of her unborn child on the screen she decided to carry her child to term. God blessed her with a beautiful daughter and she is extremely grateful to the PRC for providing that first glimpse of her unborn child.
A second mom who was planning to have an abortion but changed her mind after receiving ultrasound services from the PRC wrote on her ultrasound services exit questionnaire… “Receiving the ultrasound service made going on with this pregnancy worth it.”
Another mom shared with us that “she looked forward to visiting the PRC, she felt loved and cared for, as well as her child.”
