Our goal: For every student to be a gospel LIGHT to show the world that Jesus is better.

We are a gospel-centered, Word-driven, disciple-making student ministry. This means that our focus is on the gospel over games. On discipleship over entertainment. On holiness over hype. It doesn’t mean we don’t have fun, because we do! It means that our events, activities, worship services, small groups, and youth trips are all centered on the gospel, driven by the exposition of God’s Word, and aimed at making disciples. We have lots of fun along the way. If you are looking for a student ministry that is serious about enjoying Christ and his Word, come join us! We’d love to have you!

Every Student a Gospel LIGHT: Teenagers go through major life changes. Through all the changes, we want students’ lives to be transformed by the GOSPEL to know and follow Jesus above all things.  Over the course of their teenage years, we want each student to become a Gospel LIGHT.

What is does it mean to be a gospel LIGHT? LIGHT is an acronym for the five gospel goals that each student should pursue.

  • Live for Jesus (Gal 2:20) – this is our gospel identity
  • Invest in others (1 Thes. 2:8) – this is our gospel investment
  • Go and make disciples (Matt 28:19-20) – this is our gospel mission
  • Hunger for the Word (Rom 12:2) – this is our gospel transformation
  • Tell the world the good news (Rom 1:16) – these are our gospel conversations

These five gospel goals define what we might call our “target Creeker.”  We want every Swift Creek student (a “Creeker”) to live out each of these five things. When we aim at these things, we live as a gospel LIGHT and we will show the world that Jesus is better. And when we live as a gospel LIGHT we are able to fulfill the mission of SCBC: connect with God, connect with others, and connect others with God.

Parents are Primary: Partnered with Parents and Families

Our goal is to equip parents to be the primary disciple-maker of their home. The ultimate aim is that their teenager will grow up into adulthood joyfully following Christ, so that they will leverage the rest of their life to live for God’s glory by taking the gospel of Christ to their neighborhoods and to the nations (Eph. 6:4, Dt. 6:4-9, Eph. 4:13).

  • Encourage and Equip – 2 times/year – Gathering for parents of teens to come together each semester to be equipped from Pastor Mark, provided with resources, and encouraged by other parents.
  • Weekly Discipleship Guide – Each week, parents receive an email on practical ways they can have spiritual discussion at home based around what the students are learning in connect group.
  • Audio from Student Worship Messages – Sermon audio from our student worship services will be available each Thursday . This is available on the Anchor App, iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Search for “Swift Creek Students.”
  • Social Media
    • Facebook – Join the “Swift Creek Student Ministry” group – We post all events here and many discipleship aids for parents.
    • Instagram – Mostly for communicating with the Creekers, but if you are on it, follow Swift Creek Students.

Connecting with God, Connecting with Others, Connecting Others with God

At Swift Creek we are all about making connections. The most important connection is the one we can have with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Once that connection is established we want to make connections in our homes and with the rest of the church family. A strong church is built by people of strong faith and individual homes where God is worshiped and honored. Read More...
