Roger and his wife, Rebecca, were called to Swift Creek in 2004. He graduated from Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Music degree and received his Masters of Music degree from LSU. He has served churches in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Virginia. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Roger has served the Lord in ministry since the age of 18, and began full time vocational ministry in the church in 1979. He served as Swift Creek’s Worship Pastor for over 11 years before retiring from full-time ministry and becoming Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care.
Roger strongly believes that as we grow older we transition to different roles in life and ministry, but never stop serving the Lord daily and looking for opportunities to share the life and love of Christ with others. He says: “God has a purpose for each of us, every day that we are on this earth. I want to fulfill that purpose in my life every day- and help others to find and enjoy theirs.” And He counts it a privilege to be able to assist all of our pastors in ministering to the needs of our large and growing congregation.
Roger and Rebecca have been blessed with three children and seven beautiful grandchildren (so far), and look forward to spending lots of time with them in semi-retirement!
