At Swift Creek we are all about making connections. The most important connection is the one we can have with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Once that connection is established we want to make connections in our homes and with the rest of the church family. A strong church is built by people of strong faith and individual homes where God is worshiped and honored. Finally we as a church want to connect with our community. We want to share our faith and meet the needs of those around us. We hope you will come and join us for worship and begin to make the connection!

The History of Swift Creek Baptist Church
The Lord began Swift Creek Baptist Church as Swift Creek Mission. It was planted by New Bridge Baptist Church on March 25, 1979. The first service was held in the Tomahawk Ruritan Building on Bailey Bridge Road with 32 in attendance. Thus, Swift Creek’s history of growth began because of the prayerfulness and faith of the people.
Within two months, the Lord miraculously provided part of the present property for the building. Then within one year, ground was broken for the first brick building. It was completed in January 1981. While the building was under construction, the members placed wooden crosses on the ground before the floor was poured.
The Mission officially became Swift Creek Baptist Church in January 1982. The Lord brought gifted leaders, gifted Pastors and God-loving people to serve. The church grew and focused on witnessing and teaching the young and old alike. Soon, more office and Sunday School space was needed, so modular buildings were placed on the property and adjoining church property was purchased.
Within a few years, the space for worship and activities became crowded, so a new building program was entered. The Worship Center we use at this time was completed in September 1994. Before the carpet was laid, the church families wrote their favorite Bible verses on the floor. We truly stand on the Word of God in this place. By 2003 the church again outgrew the space the Lord had provided. After seeking God’s will, the church stepped out in faith on November 23, 2003 to break ground for a large educational building.
Swift Creek continues to grow as the members seek to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to reach new believers and to build up believers in the faith. For the fall of 2003, there was an average of 1,085 people attending the worship services. There are many Christ-centered activities continuously ongoing on the property. In addition, we seek to share Christ in the local community, across America and around the world. Besides sending missionaries around the world, Swift Creek planted Parkway Baptist Church and Grace Harvest Baptist Church. We praise the Lord for all he has done.
We believe that when we exit the building in which we worship, we enter a mission field to share with the lost, hungry, homeless, lonely, and abandoned. We also believe that we, as believers, are to join forces in combating the weapons that are mighty against us. From the music to the message to the world, we commit our lives to Him unashamed.
