What to Expect

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? In order to help you feel completely comfortable when you visit; we have tried to answer some questions you may have in advance. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at (804)739-3001 or email us at office@swiftcreekbaptist.org

What should I wear? There is not a dress code at Swift Creek for member or visitors. Some dress in more traditional “Sunday Best” but most dress a little more casual. We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress. The most important thing is simply to be yourself!

When are services held? Our worship services are on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Where do I go once I get there? Our main entrance is at the front loop with a sign that says “Worship Center” above it. When you first walk in this entrance you will see a Visitor Center on your right where a church member will greet you and direct you where to go next. You can also enter through the bottom floor Preschool Entrance (see below for details) to drop off your little ones before heading upstairs to Worship or Connect Groups. Greeters will be downstairs to assist you as well. Our Campus Map is always available online!

What is a worship service like? Our worship services are a blend of the excitement of modern Christian music and the comfort of traditional songs led by our Adult Choir and Praise Team. Our goal is to encourage each person to join in worshiping our God through the power of His Spirit. If you don’t know the songs, don’t worry, the lyrics of the songs are displayed on a large screen at the front of the worship center so everyone can raise their voice and sing. Followed by a powerful message from Senior Pastor Monty Guice. He will deliver a relevant message from God’s Word in a conversational style that offers hope and inspiration.

Where do my children go? You are more than welcome to bring your children into the Worship Services, however, we have the perfect place for your children, infant through fifth grade, to go while you attend service. We ask that you check in your children at the Check-In Center located across the Fellowship Hall or downstairs at the Preschool Department Check-In Center. After you check in your children, you and your children will both receive a receipt sticker. Please place your child’s sticker on them. For the safety and security of your child, it is important that you keep track of your receipt sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.

 Infants through Kindergarten

Both 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services Infants through Kindergarten will be downstairs in the Preschool Department. The stairs and elevator are located past the Fellowship Hall and the grade-level classroom hallway.

Connecting with God, Connecting with Others, Connecting Others with God

At Swift Creek we are all about making connections. The most important connection is the one we can have with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Once that connection is established we want to make connections in our homes and with the rest of the church family. A strong church is built by people of strong faith and individual homes where God is worshiped and honored. Read More...
