Kid's T.E.A.M. Info Pack

To be on the “Kid’s T.E.A.M.”  you must be a kid who is in 5th or 6th grade.

You must be willing to:

  • Be a regular Children’s Church attendee

  • Work with others as a team & follow directions

  • Be a leader who shows commitment and responsibility

  • Be a role model and servant to the younger kids in your attitude and behaviorand (of course) have FUN!

The fun comes by working as part of the team, and there are lots of rewards—but they come as a result of hard work and cooperation. If you think you have what it takes, complete the Kid's T.E.A.M. application, find someone to fill out the Adult Recommendation Form, and return them to the Children's Directory by the due date.





Sunday Morning Responsibilities

  • Arrive in Children’s Church at 10:40 ready to greet the kids.
  • Wear the “Kid's T.E.A.M.” badge.
  • Sit in the designated “Kid's T.E.A.M.” chairs scattered throughout the congregation.
  • Model a good attitude and participation.
  • Help the younger kids when needed.
  • Serve as “buddy” for those who need help participating appropriately or who need a friend.
  • Perform your assigned Service Team duties
  • Help with the set-up and clean-up
     

Service Teams

Welcome Team
Assists the Welcome Center Coordinator

Visitors and Nametags:

  • Work at the Welcome Center to greet visitors (fill out visitor slips, make nametags, provide visitors with a “Welcome Packet”).
  • Take the names of all children who have had birthdays from the past week.
  • Announce the names of the visitors during the Welcome Time in the service.
  • Announce those with a birthday.

Hospitality Team
Assists the Snack Coordinator

Snack and Counting:

  • Help the Snack Coordinator to serve and clean up the morning snack, and make sure children have thrown their trash away properly.
  • Take our attendance count and record it in the notebook and on the front board.

Pick-Me Box:

  • Supervise the kids as they put their names in the Pick-Me box before the service, being sure that everyone puts their name in only ONCE each week.
  • Make the box available to the Children’s Church Director so that they may choose the names for the offertory ushers, pledge leaders and the “being here” award.

Technical Team
Assists the Worship Leader

TV/VCR, Video:

  • Be sure the TV/VCR is set up by 10:45. Choose the video from Mrs. Henry’s office.
  • Monitor “video manners” of the children while video is playing.
  • Move the TV back against the wall when church is over. Return the video.
     

Overhead Projector & CD Player:

  • Set it up by 10:45
  • Assist the leaders by working the overhead projector during the singing.
  • Work the CD Player if needed during all music times—turning it on and off and maintaining proper volume.

Praise Team
Assists the Music Director

  • Practice at home in preparation for “praise time” (this is very important)
  • Help the Music Director develop hand motions and participation strategies for songs
  • Stand at the front of the room to help lead the singing, except during the invitation
  • Lead the congregation in the hand motions for songs

Puppet Team
Assists the Puppet Director

  • Practice at home in preparation for skits
  • Attend practice on the 1st and 4th Thursdays at 6:00-7:15 pm (required)
  • Set up stage, puppets and props
  • Use puppets to perform skits
  • Clean up the stage area, and take down the stage if needed
  • Be on the look-out for puppets for Children’s Church

Teacher Assistants
Assists the teachers before, during, and after the lessons

  • Assist the teacher in keeping the children’s attention (if not listening, tap on the back and point in the direction of the teacher)
  • Help the teacher with set-up and take-down if needed
  • Walk with kids to the restroom and back (they may go only if it’s an emergency, otherwise they need to wait until the lesson is over)
  • Everyone on the Kid'S T.E.A.M. must help with this team unless they are actively involved in another area in Children’s Church.
